Same stack, different rules.

The engineering does not change much between sectors. What changes is what counts as failure — a dropped frame, a millisecond of latency, a record an auditor cannot trace, a device that must run untouched for a decade. These are the sectors whose failure conditions we already know.

Below: which layers of our stack each sector usually pulls on, then what actually constrains the work in each.

Where each sector draws on the stack

A filled block means work we routinely do in that sector. An empty row means the layer exists but is rarely what these clients need.

Banking & financial services

Nothing ships here without an answer to who approved it and what it touched. Change moves through controls, data residency is fixed by regulation, and a system that cannot show its reasoning cannot go near a credit or trading decision. The engineering job is usually to modernise without breaking the audit trail.

Communications

Volume is the constraint. A defect that appears once in ten thousand sessions is a support crisis at carrier scale, and the fix often sits in silicon or in a driver rather than in the application anyone is looking at. This is the sector where our range matters most, because the bug rarely stays in the layer it was reported in.

Oil & gas

Equipment sits somewhere difficult to reach, on a link that is slow or intermittent, and it has to keep running regardless. That pushes processing to the edge and makes remote diagnosis a design requirement rather than a feature. Safety cases mean changes are deliberate and documented.

Here the schedule is the constraint. A tape-out slip or a delayed bring-up moves a launch window, and teams are usually short of exactly the specialists needed for the eight weeks the crunch lasts. Work is deep, technical and measured against a spec someone will hold you to.

Retail & consumer goods

Margins are thin enough that forecasting error shows up directly in the accounts, and demand is seasonal, promotional and rarely well behaved. Traceability requirements are also tightening — increasingly a buyer or a regulator wants to know where a product came from, not just that it arrived.

Insurance

Manufacturing
